The village of Kapelle, which has many facilities, is the administrative centre of the municipality. Most companies can be found in Wemeldinge and Biezelinge. The municipality of Kapelle is known for its fruit farming. The greenhouses too provide employment to many independent entrepreneurs.
A number of large companies and SMEs have set up their business on the industrial estates between the railway and the A58. There is still room left for new companies.
The municipality of Kapelle attracts many tourists, partly because of the marina in Wemeldinge. Besides, Wemeldinge is an important diving spot.
